ETHIOPIA – The forgotten land
and it’s little ones

In 1984, a famine ravaged Ethiopia. Millions of dollars in aid was channelled into the region and still over a million people died.

FROM A LACK OF FOOD!

Unthinkable, unacceptable in most places other than Africa.  And yet this is still happening. And this part of Africa is not a barren desert. The soil is rich in colour, there are rivers and lovely natural vegetation, the people seem to be keen to plant and work. What is going on? A green drought they say – poor rain equals poor harvest - equals starvation and a nation of gentle, warm people is starving, their children are dying. This may not be a famine on the scale seen before BUT IT IS A CRISIS.>>More

Under Fire: New Reports in the midst
of danger from Afghanistan

The explosions, attacks by the Taliban, suicide bombers and thousands of displaced refugees have made the already bad conditions in Afghanistan even worse, and the situation continues to deteriorate. CHRF's local workers and contacts have been receiving frequent death threats from the Taliban because of their courageous humanitarian efforts. Despite the terrorist's efforts, CHRF was able to provide 865 refugee families isolated in the mountains with food and crucial supplies. As threats and danger continues to rise, CHRF is proud to provide the frightened children with comfort, and their families with life-saving supplies. ONLY THROUGH YOUR SUPPORT can our efforts be effective in saving lives. Thank you for your generosity and compassion to the children of Afghanistan. >>More

Somalia - Home of the Worlds Largest Refugee Camp

Homeless & Hungry in Somalia

Its almost impossible to deliver aid into Somalia, one of the more remote and dangerous regions of the world. Most non-governmental organizations (NGO's) have left due to the insecurity. The United Nations have had 8 of its staffers and 24 aid workers killed this year. Convoys of food aid are attacked and hi jacked while aid workers face kidnapping or death . . .

Inspite of difficulties and endless challenges (our workers being detained for hours, harrased, endless roadblocks, guns pointed & threatened) our team managed to succesfully deliver and distribute 70 000 meals of food aid to 500 internally displaced families seeking refuge in Northern Somalia.>>More

Children Living in Garbage Dumps and child sex trafficking as seen through the eyes of an 18 year old CJ Doner

By Brant Doner – 18 years old

This past summer a coalition of charities including Children’s Hunger Relief Fund journeyed to various countries in Asia in order to verify and inspect funded projects as well as possible future projects. The main theme throughout non-profit work in Asia is battling the massive sex slavery issue, which is estimated by the United Nations to have four million children and women involved. My journal is a day-by-day account of the projects, countries and people which we met along the way of trying to help with one of the world’s most heartbreaking tragedies. >>More
